Thank you to those families that came and joined us on Family Fun Day on Sunday.
The weather was perfect, the pool was just right, the sausages and ice cream were yummy and the people there were fantastic.
I really enjoyed meeting all the families that came.
Unfortunately I was too busy enjoying the moment that I forgot to take lots of photos. Here are a very few that I took on the day.

Mr. Herlihy's Birthday
This term we have been learning and practising how to sketch.
Today is Mr. Herlihy's birthday so yesterday the students in Room 1 did a sketch of Mr. Herlihy. We hope he likes our present (a sketch book of him by Room 1 students).
We do have some wonderful artists in Room 1.

Assembly!
On Friday Room 1 hosted their very first whole school assembly. We were also the first class assembly of the year.
We performed three of our nursery rhymes (Incy Wincy Spider, 5 Little Monkeys and Hickory Dickory Dock) and Miss Liu made a video of the learning that has been happening in Room 1 since the first day of school.
Room 1 students did very well talking with the microphone and displayed their confidence in front of the whole entire school and our school community. Some of the students did get more nervous than they had predicted. Some students are very excited for their next school assembly (which won't be till Term 2).
Thank you to all the parents, families and the Glen Taylor School community who came and supported the students in Room 1.
Here are some of the photos Mr Raj took for Room 1. Unfortunately due to copyright issues I am unable to share video on this blog. However I have made a powerpoint slide of some of the photos that were used. You may recognise some of the photos from earlier post.

2018 Day 2
Today the students settled very quickly into the classroom and showed no signs of being tired. Here's a reflection of what happened in our classroom today.

First day back at school!
First day back at school!
Today our main focus was on learning the school values (FIRE - Fun, Integrity, Respect and Excellence). We explored these values through the approach of learning through play.
Check out the photo below for a quick summary of what happened today.
The students helped me out with the comments.
